Velma Hobbs, 90, of Loveland, passed away on April 18, 2019, in Fort Collins.

Velma was born in Malvern, Iowa to Ray & Hazel (Munsinger) Bateman on February 14, 1929. On August 26, 1956, Velma married the love of her life, Henry “Eldon” Hobbs.

She had various careers that include being the owner & proprietor of the Squeeze Inn diner, worked for schools in Kansas City, MO, Fort Collins, CO and Prescott, AZ. Velma last worked as manager of the College Inn Motel in Fort Collins, CO.

She was a wonderful & loving mother who raised 2 sons. Velma & Eldon retired and became ‘Snow Birds’, and lived in Colorado and Lake Havasu City, AZ for several years, before settling in Loveland, CO, where Eldon passed away. She later lived in Bullhead City, Arizona for 10 years, before returning to Loveland, CO where she spent the rest of her time.

She is survived by her son, John (Joanie) Hobbs; step-daughter, Beverly (Jim) Cannady; and a loving extended family.

She was preceded in death by her husband; son, Henry Hobbs Jr.; and a brother & sister.
