Obituary

Thomas Leach, 81, of Ault, Colorado, passed away peacefully on April 1, 2021 in Greeley, Colorado.

Thomas was born in Lyman, Nebraska to Harrison & Loriene (Mitchell) Leach on August 25, 1939. On December 19, 1959 in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, Thomas married the love of his life, Doris (Beatty) Leach.

Coincidentally, they met April 1st 1959, he would pass 62 years, to the day, after their meeting. They were engaged in July and traveled with Loriene, Tom's mother, so Doris could meet his sisters, who lived in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. They were married December 19, 1959. Their daughter Teresa Eileen Leach was born February 21, 1961. Their son Charles Monroe Leach was born April 12, 1963. 'Chuck" (Charles) died October 18, 1980. Teresa met and married Ricky Dean Buckendorf . They had 2 children Richard Thomas Buckendorf and Lilliann Jean Buckendorf. Richard had 2 children Kea-Lani and Kami Mae Buckendorf. Lilliann married Daniel Stuart and they had 3 children Brandon Ray, Devon Kyle and Destiny Jo.

Tom was known for playing games with children, be they his brothers-in-law, his nieces and nephews, his own children, grand children and even his great-grand children. The love of his life was Doris and she was also the one he loved to pull pranks on. Tom and his son-in-law, Rick, were well known for their back and forth humor, which was hysterical. He taught all the children he was around to appreciate rocks and their different varieties. He would bring out his rock collection filled with arrowheads he found and tell the stories behind each one. Tom loved to garden and make things out of wood. Tom was well known for his humor and the pranks he pulled. His laughter and love will be greatly missed by all.

It needs to be mentioned that Tom also dearly loved Doris' family. He had a special relationship with his father and mother-in-law, Charlie and Lilly Beatty along with Doris' brothers Larry, Pat, Clyde, Jim and Mike.

Thomas is survived by his wife; daughter, Teresa (Rick) Buckendorf; grandchildren, Richard Buckendorf, and Lillian (Daniel) Stuart; great-grandchildren, Kea-Lani, and Kami Buckendorf, Brandon, and Devon Stuart, and Destiny McCleery; sister, Beverly (Pete) Nigra; and a large loving extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Chuck Leach; and sister, Lois Ann Schriver.

A private family Celebration of Life will be planned for the future.
