Obituary

Ross Gilbert DeBey, May 8,1933-February 20, 2021, age 87, passed at his home. He was born in Jewell County, Kansas, to Martin and Minnie Meyer DeBey. Ross was a 28-year survivor of a heart transplant.

Ross graduated from Downs High School in 1951. Following graduation, he joined the United States Air Force and served for 4 years during the Korean War. He was awarded several medals during his service. He married Judy Lee Biga on July 6, 1955, in Osborne, Kansas. Ross was an active community member. He was the owner and operator of DeBey's Service Station and made many friends over the years. Ross was a Boy Scout Leader, a member of the First United Methodist Church of Greeley, an Elks Club member. He will be remembered for his hard work ethic, good sense of humor, and fun-loving ways. Ross worked the hours necessary to get his customer’s vehicles working. He was a good storyteller and kept all who knew him entertained. He enjoyed camping, woodworking, coffee time with his friends, watching his grandkids play sports; he was their greatest fan. He will be greatly missed.
