Obituary

Robert Edwards, 85, of Greeley, Colorado, quietly passed away on December 28, 2020 in Greeley.

Robert was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Eldon & Mildred (Carpenter) Seebach on March 28, 1935. On April 23, 1956 in Minneapolis, Robert married the love of his life, Darlene (Sweet) Edwards.

Robert (Bob) D. Edwards beloved husband, father, and grandfather passed quietly on December 28, 2020 of natural causes. Bob led a very eventful life, he enlisted in the Army in 1952 at 17 and was stationed in Germany where he was a tank driver, upon his return to the US he married Darlene (Sweet) in 1956 in Minneapolis, MN, then was stationed at Fort Gordon in Georgia where he became an MP. Bob and Darlene welcomed daughter Vikki (Conklin) in 1957 in Georgia before being transferred to Fort Richardson in Anchorage, Alaska (before Alaska became a state), where he spent the last 5 years of his service as a Sargent First Class research specialist.

After honorable discharge in 1960 he and his family moved back to Minneapolis and welcomed son Shawn Edwards in 1962. He was a supervisor at a large computer company. In 1971 Bob and Darlene purchased a resort in Grand Rapids, MN and built it up to be very successful then sold and opened a retail clothing store in town. They were very successful in that endeavor, they then sold the store and moved to Jackson, WY to manage a guest ranch. After Jackson, they moved to Chicago, IL and became a business consultant at a very successful manufacturing company that allowed him to travel around the world. He retired and he and Darlene moved to Colorado to be closer to their children, where he was able to do the things he loved most, hunting, fishing, camping, and spending time with his growing family.

Bob touched his family and his memory will be carried forever by all that loved him.

Robert is survived by his wife; children, Vikki (Jeff) Conklin, and Shawn (Mandy) Edwards; grandchildren, Luke (Devon), and Dustin (Bri) Smith, and Abigail Edwards; great-grandchildren, Emrie, Eden, Tucker, and Scarlett; and a large loving extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Celebration of Life will be planned for the Spring of 2021.
