Raymond was born in Hendrix County, Indiana to Francis & Emma (Dalton) Byrnes on September 25, 1941.
Ray enjoyed life and what it offered. He loved to be around family and his grandchildren. Ray frequently could be found looking around at garage sales for a treasure that he needed or on a lawn tractor mowing the grass or doing chores. Ray was an Indiana sports fan. He loved the Colts and the Hoosiers as well as the famous Indianapolis 500. Growing up with 14 brothers and sisters provided many stories that Ray took pleasure in telling to his children and grandchildren. He loved to laugh and to act out many of the actions in those famous stories. Ray enjoyed country music and attended many concerts in little Nashville with friends. He also loved to dance whenever a tune would catch his ear.
Raymond is survived by his children, Terri (David) Dennison, Tina (Thad) Roher, and Tim (Leigh) Byrnes; grandchildren, Tim and Dustin Dennison, Maggie (Luke) Thomas, Reed Roher, Joya and Camden Byrnes; 2 great-grandchildren; siblings, Donald (Madlyne), Leroy, Renee, Larry (Marian), and Jimmy (Judy) Byrnes; brother-in-law, Jack (Dorie) Stokes; and several loving nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Dorie Stokes, Gracie, Ernie, Tom, Max, Phyllis, Jean, Midge, and Kenneth.
A Celebration of Life will be in May 2020 on a date to be determined, in Indiana.
