Obituary

“Marcos Chavez lived & died” ~ Marcus

Marcos “Marcus”, 74, of Greeley, Colorado, went to be with his Creator on December 7, 2020 in Loveland, Colorado.

Marcus was born in Greeley to John & Josephine (Vigil) Chavez on April 25, 1946.

He also worked at the City of Greeley as a custodial supervisor for many years. Marcus later worked For Qwest diagnostic as a courier.

Marcus loved spending time with family and friends, sharing his coffee with good conversations & better company. His pure enjoyment of good homemade Mexican food & hot-chili that would make him sweat and want more was legendary. Marcus also had a passion for fast classic cars!

Marcus was a kind and giving person, always wanting to help anyone when he could. Since Marcus had no children of his own, all of his nieces and nephews were loved as his own; from giving them advice to making them laugh. He was one of a kind, “The one and only!”

Marcus will be missed and loved by all of us. We miss you already. RIP brother, uncle, and friend, until we meet again. LOVE YOU!!!

Marcus is survived by his siblings, Pete (Cindy), and David (Jeanie) Chavez, Roseann (Julio) Rodriguez, Lisa (Javier) Tovar; and numerous nieces & nephews whom he loved as his own children.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Josie Esparza; nephew, Norman Chavez; and niece, Misty Chavez.

A Celebration of Life will be at Summitview Community Church, 801 37th Street, Evans, CO on Saturday December 19, 2020 at 11 am. Face masks are required and social distancing will be observed.

There are so many memories to share about my uncle, so its hard to choose only one. I remember him pulling up in his turquoise 57 Chevy in my grandparents driveway, bringing in some hamburgers from Hamburger Stand. My sweet uncle you will be missed.
