Obituary

Karen “Michele” Terriere of Carr, Colorado passed away November 28th, 2019, in Greeley, Colorado, surrounded by her family and loved ones.

Michele was born in Orange County, California, to Brenda (Vincent) and Tom Yates on April 23rd, 1961. Michele lived in Birmingham, AL, where she attended high school and then moved to Greeley, CO, where she graduated, got married, had children and created a life she loved. Michele did childcare for many years and then eventually moved on to Real Estate.

Michele’s greatest passions in life were her children and grandchildren, along with her fiancée, Marvin Mossness, and her family. She loved cooking, gardening, and crafting many different things. She loved all animals- mostly, her dog, Mac. She had a huge hunger to help others and did anything she could to be sure that others were taken care of. She was loved for her goofy sense of humor, huge heart and over all compassion, among many other things. She will be gravely missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her children, Joshua Terriere of Greeley, CO, Dani Walter of Greeley, CO, and Aubrey Terriere of Greeley, CO. Fiancée, Marvin Mossness of Carr, CO. Sisters, Hope Rempel of Greeley, CO, Kris Yates of San Diego, CA. A brother Steven Yates of Fruita, CO. Numerous nieces and nephews and her grandchildren- Charlotte, Noah, Shiloh, Arya and Odin.

She is preceded in death by her father, Tom Yates and brother, Chris Brewer (Bubba).

A celebration of life will be held at 1414 28th Street Road, Greeley, CO on Friday, December 6th from 3-5 pm.

Michelle became a friend of mine during the most difficult time of my life. She could make me laugh when everything else seemed to be falling apart. We remained friends for the next 27 years. The last words that we spoke to each other a month ago we’re “I love you.”. She was a very loving, caring and sweet friend who I will miss dearly. I’m so thankful to have known her.

Michelle and I did daycare in our homes and spent an incredible amount of time together during those years. She helped me get started in Daycare when I moved to Colorado, since I didn’t know many people. We had so many great times getting ALL of our kids together for crafts, field trips and play times. She made me laugh all the time! She was so loving and compassionate, not only to her children and family but also to her friends and acquaintances! We had so much fun getting together and sharing our kids birthdays together, and also her girls births! I met Michelle when Josh was a toddler and was able to watch her Beautiful Family grow! I even got to know her sisters and her Dad. At times I really felt part of the family. The love Michelle had for her family was unconditional, she loved her sisters with all her heart and loved having them close by. She absolutely love her children with all of her heart and only wanted the best for them! We hadn’t seen each other in years 😢 unfortunately we drifted apart as our lives changed, but I have so many years of fun, funny and loving memories to hold onto. Rest In Peace my Friend ♥️ Godspeed

Here are 2 of my very favorite pictures of Michelle.
