Obituary

James “Jim” McDermott, age 67, of Greeley, Colorado, passed away January 14, 2019, at his home surrounded by his family.

Jim was born November 19,1951 in Denver, Colorado, to Andrew and Hazel McDermott. He loved spending his time fishing, hunting, smoking meat, and being with friends and most importantly his family.

He is survived by his wife Christine McDermott; daughters Dawn Gentile and husband Eric, Wendy Rademacher and husband Todd, Jamie Turner and husband Melvin, Nichole Gilbert, Sage Sarchet and wife Jill, Michelle Allen and husband Adrian. Grandchildren Sammi Gentile, Halima Mohammed, Shana McDermott, Anthony Gentile, Sarah Stone, Derek Scott, Scott Turner, Jeremy Scott, Josh Scott, Zoe’ Allen, Kaedon Rademacher, Shaniqua Sarchet, Olivia Gilbert, Jett Allen, Adam, Blake, and Makena Sarchet; great grandchild Kynzlee Sembach.

Jim was one of a kind and would lend a hand to anyone in need. His goofy laugh could put a smile on anyone’s face. His firm handshake turned to a warm hug. The kindness he shared for his friends and the love for his family is irreplaceable. His strength is admirable, a true fighter is who he is.

He was a true friend, a supporter, hard working, a giver, a loving son, brother, friend, and a “Proud, Proud” grandpa, father, and husband.
Jim will be deeply missed, loved, and remembered by all whom he loved.

A celebration of Jim’s life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 26, 2019, at Platte River Fort 22999 US Highway 34 Greeley, CO. 80631 www.PLATTERIVERFORT.COM. Dress is casual!
