Floyd "Nick" Barton Jr., 86, of Fort Collins, passed away peacefully on January 16, 2019 in Fort Collins.
Nick was born in Lockhaven, Pennsylvania to Floyd Sr. & Ethel Embick Barton on April 4,1932.
Dad had an interesting life. He served 20 years in the Army; 2 tours in Korea during the Korean war.

Afterward, He had many different jobs, security guard, ranch hand/caretaker. He enjoyed hunting, fishing. He enjoyed challenges like milking a rattlesnake because he was required to write about something he had never done. But, the question he was most asked was how did he get his nickname "Nick". When he was about 8 months old , his Grandpa Embick was giving him his first haircut. He oops nicked him and said "We have a Nick here." The name stuck with him his entire life. It suited him.
Floyd is survived by his children, Tommy , Mike, Mark, Jeannine Barton, and Kelly Carter; 10 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and 1 great, great grandchild, and a loving extended family and great friends.
He was preceded in death by his children; Jennie, Scott, and Barbara Barton; siblings, Joyce Andrus, and Leonard Barton; and parents.

Just wanted to say sorry for your loss. I wanted to share a comforting thought from the Bible, at John 5:28:29 about a wonderful promise for the future. It says do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life.
