Obituary

Dennis F. Meister, son of Erwin and Georgia (Gibbs) Meister, was born August 6, 1945 in Aberdeen, SD. He grew up in Groton, SD and after high school enlisted in the Army. He proudly served the United States with a tour in Vietnam which haunted him the rest of his life. Proud to be a Veteran he took great joy and found peace in visiting Veteran Memorials around the the US. In his later years, he volunteered with the Red Cross where he loved helping and met many friends.

Survived by his three children, Marna (Jeff) Hemenway, Karen Meister, Steven Meister; seven grandchildren; his siblings Ila (Darrel) Jesme, Maxine Haywood, Mervin (Linda) Meister, Bobby (Shirley) Meister, and Terry (Bette) Meister.

His parents, Erwin and Georgia Meister, sisters, Jackie, Jodean, Burnice, Marian and brothers, Jerald, Donnie, Charles, Dale and James, preceded him in death.

His wish was to be laid to rest in Groton, SD Union Cemetery in their Veterans Circle which will take place later this summer.

I'll will miss our joking around playful pranks. I especially remember the big steak you cooked Mom, Dad and myself when we visited your place. God bless you and thank you for for all the fun and laughter Uncle Denny.
