Obituary for Mona Ruth Fischer

Mona Ruth Fischer
Mona “Ruth” Fischer, 90, of Greeley, peacefully passed away in her home surrounded by family on March 24, 2018.

Ruth was born in Fairview, Missouri to Peter & Laura (Moss) Joel on February 2, 1928. On May 28, 1947 in Wellington, Kansas, Ruth married the love of her life, Kenneth Fischer.

Ruth had several jobs throughout her life such as a phone operator at Southwestern Bell in Enid, OK; shoe sales in Lamar, CO; and cook for the Lamar School system. She had no greater job than homemaker and mother. Ruth was devoted to her husband and was truly the heart of her family!

Ruth was a member of the Methodist Church and Women’s Circle. She helped with numerous charitable events including the church’s clothing store.

Ruth loved activities like golf and actually won several championships. Some of her trophy-ship plaques are displayed at Highland Hills Golf Course. She also enjoyed card games (Skipbo) and bingo. She enjoyed time spent with her friends at the Greeley Senior Center.

The Lord has truly gained an angel!
We love you and will greatly miss you!

Ruth is survived by her husband; daughters, Cheryl Havens and Dena Fischer; granddaughters, Christi (Ken) Klein and Shannon Buckner; 5 great-grandchildren; sister, Floriene (Noel) Brock; and a large loving extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and 10 siblings.

A private celebration will be Summer-2018.
